Erika Endrijonas, Ph.D.
Superintendent / President
Dr. Erika Endrijonas began her tenure as Superintendent/President of Santa Barbara City College in August 2023. She previously served as Superintendent/President of Pasadena City College and President of Los Angeles Valley College in the Los Angeles Community College District. Prior to that, she served as Executive Vice President of Oxnard College in the Ventura County Community College District for five years, where she was the Chief Instructional Officer, the Chief Student Services Officer, and the Accreditation Liaison Officer. Her community college experience also includes nine years as the Career and Technical Dean at Santa Barbara City College, where she oversaw 28 departments spread across the Business, Technology, and Health and Human Services Divisions, in addition to the School of Culinary Arts and the Orfalea Early Learning Center.
Dr. Endrijonas holds a bachelor’s degree in history from California State University, Northridge (CSUN), and master’s and Ph.D. degrees in American and Women’s History from the University of Southern California. Dr. Endrijonas currently teaches in the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies doctoral program at CSUN and has served on dissertation committees at CSUN, California State University, Los Angeles, California State University, Long Beach, Drexel University, and California Lutheran University. Other teaching experience includes courses in American History, Gender Studies, Critical Thinking, and Humanities at two- and four-year institutions in California, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Georgia.
Dr. Endrijonas has extensive Accrediting Commission of Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) accreditation experience and was recently elected serve as the ACCJC’s representative to the Western Association of Schools and Colleges Senior Commission (WASCUC). She is an At-Large representative to the California Community College Chief Executive Officers (CCCCEO) Board, past chair and at-large member of the California Community College Athletic Association Board (3C2A), past co-chair of the California Community College (CCC) Women’s Caucus, the co-founder/past co-chair/current treasurer of the CCC LGBTQ+ Caucus and is the former co-chair of the national LGBTQ Leaders in Higher Education organization. Dr. Endrijonas is also a current member of the CCC Title IX/Gender Equity Workgroup, a former member of the statewide Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Advisory Committee, and she served for two years on the CEO Racial Equity and Inclusion Excellence Taskforce.
Locally, Dr. Endrijonas is a member and Treasurer of the Partners in Education Board,
a member of the Santa Barbara Chamber of Commerce Board, and a member of Rotary Club
of Santa Barbara Sunrise.
